“Exercise is proven to reduce depression & anxiety, and can help us manage negative feelings as well as alleviate symptoms of social withdrawal. It is a tool to support our mental health & wellbeing.” Dr. Radha Modgil

What does the science say about T’ai Chi & Qigong?

Q : "I want a break from the mental chatter constantly in my head. How can I do this?"

A : Come to a one hour CalmX class - you will be amazed at where the time goes, and what your thoughts have been!

A : Whatever age you are, a Tai Chi Tigers class will help you begin your journey to better health and wellbeing. You exercise at your own pace and progress as far as you are able with the help and guidance from our quaiified instructors.

Q : "I need to get my body into shape with more strength, flexibility and balance"

A : We have students from all walks of life with all types of physical and mental issues, but all working towards a healthier wellbeing.

Q : "I have been to rehabilitation classes but need to keep up exercising. Also I enjoy the social interaction with likeminded people"

A : Age is not a reason why you cannot do T’ai Chi, balance will improve with time and practice and you will only bend and stretch as far as is comfortable for you. One rule - 'if it hurts, don't do it' - what ever ‘hurts’ needs correcting or leaving out of your exercise regime. Of course, you can gain many benefits depending on the state of your health when you come to a class.

Q : "I am over 70, my balance is not very good and I have had replacements joints. Will I benefit from a class with you?"

Mind, body and spirit altogether can improve with age and daily practice of T’ai Chi and Qigong. Practice correctly and you will have more energy after than before your regime.
